Who runs this
Parm Rater is an independent Australian project built and run by Lucas Howlett. It started as a way to settle pub arguments with data and grew into a national scoreboard, with thousands of rated parmigianas across every state and territory.
There is no restaurant group behind it and no sponsored scores. The ratings are the whole point, so nothing is allowed to bend them.
How the ratings work
Scored out of 10
Every rating covers taste, value, size and the sides. A venue's headline number is the average of every scorecard it has received.
Real plates, real photos
Ratings are submitted through the app, almost always with a photo of the actual parmigiana. No stock shots, no venue-supplied glamour.
Rated by the community
Scores come from people who sat down and ate there. Venues cannot pay to change a rating, and premium listings never touch the numbers.
