Sandy Bay, TAS
For the price of it you’d expect bigger but the chips and salad compensated
Not bad at all for $20
Crumbed chicken breast (not schnitzel), so reasonably thick but not a lot of surface area for sauce and cheese. Overall taste was fine however structural integrity a real issue - whole thing just fell apart when cutting into it. Chips quite blonde and low quantity, salad dressing good but salad itself very underwhelming, rocket with a few slices of radish. Even excluding price, very average.
The Metz provided an OK parmi, priced at $31 usually but $20 on a Thursday was a nice surprise. The chips were nice, seasoned well and crunchy. The salad was better than it looks, with a lovely, citrusy dressing, could have just used a little bit more of it. The parmi itself was good, did its job but I would not write home about it. The service left a bit to be desired but overall, a nice summers evening spent at the Metz. Paired with a pint of great northern.
