Immediately my mind goes to the ham! Best ham I’ve ever had on a parmi, if that was a category of its own it would be 5 stars! Really big fan of the sauce too, didn’t have a lot of herb action but a very strong tomato flavour which was nice. Pretty strong cheese but not a 10/10 flavour, the chicken as well was just good without being mind blowing. Very happy with the way it tasted though, and I hope every parmi from now on tastes as good as this one. The salad and the chips were pretty good too. The chips were crispy, hot, salty, simple beer battered fries with a nice gravy (that didn’t cost any extra). The salad did taste okay but had a lot of carrot and not a big variety of vegetables, the balsamic vinegar was a nice touch and probably did a lot of the heavy lifting. Unfortunately probably brought the rating down a bit and takes away from how incredible the parmi itself was. Overall I will be ordering this next time and I will be telling everyone I know how great this tasted.
Alrighty what can we say about the parmi at TBone? The parmi didn’t have ham on it, it had chorizo instead! That was a nice touch because it also had chilli flakes so it was a bit of a different flavour. I think the chorizo worked better than ham would’ve, the sauce was flavourful and the cheese covered it well. I’m fairly certain however that the chicken itself wasn’t chicken breast, but instead ground chicken meat like what you’d find in nuggets or tenders. It made the texture a bit off putting and impacted the flavour slightly but it was still nice. The salad dressing was yummy and it had a good variety of vegetables, easily the highlight of the meal. The chips unfortunately were the worst parts of both dry and soggy at the same time, and didn’t have any salt or seasoning. Not hot, not crunchy, not yummy, not very good. Unfortunately I wouldn’t be ordering this parmi again, but I won’t go as far as to say it was bad and that I didn’t at least get my fill.
Pretty average parmi. Chips had a lot of pepper on them which was unusual but not a terrible addition. Unfortunately the salad was a let down, no dressing whatsoever. As for the star of the show, the parmi had a pretty thin layer of pretty uninteresting sauce. The ham just tasted okay, not strong but not outstandingly worth mentioning. The chicken itself was solid but again, just tasted like chicken. The cheese however had a very strong flavour and I’m a sucker for cheese, nice and browned with a lot of coverage. I enjoyed the parmi and the chips and am happy with my purchase, just wasn’t blown away.
Trivia night! Starting with the salad, it tasted good but it was a bit dry and didn’t have the broadest range of vegetables. Very lettuce and cabbage heavy. The chips were crispy and a little bit salty but didn’t have any seasoning other than that and were ultimately a bit bland. Bland unfortunately is a word I’d use to describe the parmi itself as well. A very very thin spread of sauce that didn’t have a lot of flavour anyway. Ham had a strong taste which was enjoyable and the cheese was thick and did a lot of heavy lifting. The chicken had that strange taste but didn’t ruin the experience for me. Obviously I still enjoyed it - it was a parmi after all. Definitely good value at $27 and a decent size too, but that being said I would try something else on the menu next time.
Awesome chips and salad. No sauce options which lowered my chip rating a little but otherwise they were very tasty and salty. Salad had a great mix of veggies and an amazing dressing, closest salad to perfection if not for a very minor knock on the chopping of the red onion. Onto the parmi itself, average-good size, pretty cheap being <$30 as well. Very cheesy, nice mozzarella taste. Ham was yummy, sauce was really good - not overpowering in flavour but very saucy by volume. Chicken was nice and crispy on the edges, not dry and didn’t have that weird taste that a schnitzel can sometimes have which is massive for me. Would definitely order this parmi again the next time I visit, unless I try the Mexican variant.
Above average - good parmi, a bit small but also a bit thick. Chips were crispy and salty, salad was okay but the dressing wasn’t mixed very well and a bit tangy + the full sized cucumber slices weren’t really my style. Good tasting parmi with nice sauce, ham and cheese. Would order again for sure but wouldn’t rave about it to my friends.
